Abstract:

A dangerous, abnormal blood lipid concentration is the hallmark of a condition called dyslipidemia. Recent studies show that 25–30% of persons in cities and 15–20% of people in rural regions have high cholesterol. It greatly increases a number of dangerous disorders, including cerebrovascular diseases (ASCVD) and atherosclerotic heart disease. Dyslipidemia is a substantial independent modifiable risk factor that has been closely linked to the pathogenesis of ASCVD. The prevalence of ASCVD is shockingly high, and patients usually get more severe symptoms and a poor prognosis when they first develop the condition. Because dyslipidemia is so important, it makes sense to manage it safely and effectively.

Many Ayurvedic medications are currently the focus of research due to their potential use in decreasing cholesterol. Minerals and herbal remedies can be taken separately or in combination. Processing Ayurvedic herbo-mineral compositions in herbal juices increases their efficacy. Over the past few decades, research on phytochemistry and pharmacology has been conducted to ascertain the lipid-lowering properties of many herbal plants listed in Ayurvedic scriptures. Clinical research have also demonstrated the efficacy of Ayurvedic herbal medicines in lowering LDL-C. The study examines the research conducted on different Ayurvedic medications that have the ability to decrease cholesterol.

Keywords: Rasayans, phytochemicals, immunity and Herbal antilipids.
